VMP 027 Mangrove Under Southern Cross

Roebuck Bay is home to thousands of mangroves and there are a few that stand solitary against a challenging environment. The high tide engulfed the mangrove roots of this tree highlighting the beautiful shape of the trunk. The long exposure smoothed out the water whilst recording a gentle blur in the leaves and the shutter was open was long enough to capture the stars. Sometimes, as they say the 'planets align' and only a couple of times a year can you see the Southern Cross high in the sky above this mangrove and I was really lucky to be here at the right time.
